Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this book Brian.

Most of the recruiting I've done has been retained. Recruiters face advantages and disadvantages using either method.

In the retained model, recruiters get paid, then they have to deliver. While it's nice getting the cash, delivery can be challenging in some cases due to variables beyond the recruiter's control (company work environment, offer, supervisor, etc.)

In the contingency model, recruiters have to deliver, then they can get paid. In this model, if it's difficult to deliver, recruiters can easily move to clients where the probability of getting a job filled is higher. The risk, of course, is having to work for free until a placement is made.

@John Thanks for your incite on this topic. Knowing how competitive CORPS are in regards to the "bottom line", not sure retained fits the lifestyle I EnJOY. (I do what I want, when I want, with who I want)

Best, Brian-
